How many convictions do you have?

The cost of a person’s car insurance policy can vary upon the number of convictions they have for driving offences, research has revealed.

According to research by price comparison website, moneysupermarket.com, motorists caught driving under the influence of alcohol will see their premiums increase by up to 48 per cent and even face not being insured at all.

Those speeding can expect to have their premiums increase by five per cent.

However, according to the research, the number of times caught speeding could also increase premiums.

Motorists caught speeding three times would see their car insurance premiums rise by a further 33 per cent.
