One in five motorists in the UK has admitted to have driven without car insurance at one stage of their lives.
According to a survey conducted by a price comparison website, a “worrying” number of Brits have driven theirs or someone else’s vehicles without being insured.
Head of car insurance at the price comparison website, Steve Sweeny stated that these figures are worse than what was found last year and described it as a “worrying trend.”
He warned: "Driving without insurance, no matter how far the distance, is against the law.
Anyone caught doing so could face hefty penalties which include a £200 on-the-spot fine and six points on their licence."
