Teacher receives quarter of a million in compensation

A teacher has received a quarter of a million pounds in compensation after being attacked by a 13 year student.

The teacher had been suffered severe head injuries and was forced to leave her teaching job at a special needs school when the pupil jumped onto her back causing her to take a fall hitting her head on the window.

The 13 year old had previously attacked another member of staff and also has a record of violent behaviour.

The teacher said: “I'm not angry at the pupil who did it. I'm angry at a system where encountering violence is now an expectation of the job.”
