Lawyers help settle work accident claim

A construction worker who was working on the Wembley Stadium in 2005 has received £6,500 in compensation after a work accident left him with permanent damage to his eye.

The 36 year old had been hammering down a steel pin when the galvanised coating broke off and shot into his eye after smashing through the goggles he had been provided with.

He suffered from permanent damage to his eye as a result.

According to injury lawyers, the firm had been liable for the accident as it failed to provide suitable goggles for the type of work he was given.

A spokesperson from the solicitor firm who took on the case said: “[The man] should have been provided with safety glasses which would provide his eyes with protection from all angles. His employer’s negligence means he has been left with long term problems with his eye, something which could easily have been avoided with the correct equipment.”

At a crucial time when you need your accident insurance the most, they end up being a disappointment by coaxing you to take less money than what you are entitled to. An accident could mean lost work hours, missed opportunities, and serious physical disabilities. When you have a legit accident claim, you have to make sure that your full right as a policyholder is carried out. Accident victims go into a transition period from the trauma of the accident until they get back to normal capacity. This process takes time depending on the severity of the accident.
