A motorcyclist is taking legal action against Suzuki after his bike split in two while taking part in a practise event for a Grand Prix.
The 29 year old suffered severe personal injuries to his legs when his bike dropped away from him whole he was driving at 80mph during a practise event for the Isle of Man's Manx Grand Prix.
According to a high court writ, the man "went into a right hand bend. Suddenly without warning he felt the motorbike drop down and away from him.
He had not skidded or collided with anything. He lost control and became unseated."
He was airlifted to hospital due to the severe nature of his injuries where he underwent a number of operations and required plastic surgery.
As a result of his injuries, he was forced to give up his £40,000 job.
Instead of going through his bike insurance company, the biker is filing a no win no fee claim against Suzuki on the terms that the manufacturer failed to carry out a suitable test to ensure the bike was safe to use.
He also stated that the manufacturer was liable for his injuries as the bike frame's welds were not strong enough.
The man is seeking over £300,000 in compensation to cover the costs.
