Stolen credit cards are now being sold online at supermarket style discounts, it has been revealed.
According to research from Which?, more criminals are using the internet to buy and sell credit card details and other personal details at buy one get one free style offers.
The firm stated that for under £10, criminals can purchase the names, addresses and date of birth of the credit card owner as well has his credit card details.
Sarah Kidner, editor of Which? Computing, said: “This isn’t petty crime. The people using these underground forums are serious criminals who are selling stolen credit card numbers by the hundreds.”
Some dealers had been found offering stolen credit card information including security codes in bulk, advertising them at “buy 500, get 500 free” deals.
