Fall in the park leaves man compensated

A cyclist who fell off his bike after travelling over a sunken drain has been awarded compensation as a result of his personal injuries.
The 42 year old man from Edinburgh was riding his bike on a cycle lane in a park in 2005 when a sunken drain caused him to fly over the handle bars of the bike smashing his face into the ground.
Although the cyclist wore a safety helmet, he suffered a number of injuries to his face.
He required surgery on his cheekbone after it was smashed as a result of the accident.
After filing a public liability claim against the Scottish Government who were responsible for the maintanance of the park, the man received just under £6,000 in compensation.
