70 per cent of all public liability claims are made by women, according to new figures from the InjuriesBoard.ie.
Yet the firm, otherwise known as the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB), stated that the figures does not suggest that women are more accident prone compared to men.
Chief Executive of PIAB, Patricia Byron said: “We can’t say definitively why, but there are more women out and about in areas where accidents are more likely to happen.”
And before all you men start saying, "yeah, of course she's going to say that..she's a woman," the figures also revealed that 70 per cent of all work accident claims are made by men.
Because, “Similarly there are more men in the work environment doing manual jobs,” according to Byron.
