WARNING: Cyber-criminals easy access to credit card details

With the current financial crisis leaving almost everyone desperate for cash as they struggle to pay off mortgages, loans and other debts, the number of internet fraudsters scheming their way into other people’s pockets, is on the increase.

A BBC programme has revealed that computer hackers and fraudsters can have easy access to people’s credit card information.

With the use of software, cyber-criminals are able to send out spam and phishing e-mails and pop-ups which fool internet users into providing them with their personal credit card details.

The programme also revealed that hackers and internet fraudsters have developed a new industry where hijacked computers, that consist of “financial details, like online banking passwords and credit card details,” are sold to other cyber-criminals.
