Gap year students are failing to take out adequate travel insurance before jetting off abroad, it has been revealed.
According to new research from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, 41 per cent of graduates who have taken a gap year have admitted to have left the UK without purchasing travel insurance.
The firm found that 25 per cent of those surveyed had struggled with finances overseas, admitting they had run out of money.
