Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse

The number of compensation claims made is set to rise due to the current climate of both the economy and the weather.

According to figures from a price comparison site, the recession has lead to a six per cent increase in burglaries while research from Sainsbury’s Home Insurance revealed that £27.56 million was payed out in compensation in just over a month from December 22nt 2008, due to burst pipe damage.

The rise in home insurance compensation claims will increase the average insurance premiums by 11 per cent according to AA Insurance, leaving more Brits struggling for cash.
